The Goodman/Amana 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM ignition-system component for the AMEC801005CNAA gas furnace and compatible Goodman and Amana models. The flame sensor (flame rod) sits in the burner flame and confirms to the control board that ignition has occurred by conducting a tiny microamp rectified current. If the board doesn't sense flame within a few seconds, it shuts off the gas as a safety measure. A weak, corroded, or failed sensor is one of the most common causes of furnace short cycling and intermittent no-heat calls.
OEM vs. Generic: The genuine OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, material, and mounting bracket to sit precisely in the flame and produce a reliable microamp signal. Generic sensors may sit at the wrong depth or oxidize quickly, returning the same fault soon after replacement. For dependable flame proving, the OEM part is worth it.
Install difficulty: Easy (2/5). Disconnect furnace power, remove the single mounting screw, unplug the sensor lead, and install the replacement. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers (skin oils shorten sensor life). Reconnect, restore power, and confirm a steady flame with no lockouts. A quick 10–15 minute repair.
