The 11177114 pressure switch is the genuine OEM draft-proving control for the Goodman GMV951155DXA 95% AFUE variable-speed condensing furnace. This normally-open switch, set to a -0.50" water column (WC) trip point, confirms that the induced-draft blower is producing proper airflow before the control board allows ignition. If adequate draft isn't sensed — due to blocked venting, a failing inducer, or a bad switch — the furnace safely locks out to prevent unsafe combustion.
Pressure switches are calibrated safety devices — the -.50" set point and normally-open configuration must match this furnace exactly. The genuine Goodman switch is factory-calibrated to that spec, ensuring reliable proving without nuisance lockouts or unsafe overrides. Generic switches with slightly different set points are a leading cause of intermittent no-heat calls and can compromise combustion safety. Insist on the OEM part.
Rating: Easy to Moderate (DIY-friendly, 15–20 minutes). Disconnect power, note and photograph the wire and tubing positions, remove the spade terminals and pressure tube, unscrew the switch, and install the replacement in the same orientation. Reconnect the tubing securely and verify the furnace completes a full ignition sequence. If lockouts persist, inspect the inducer and venting for the true cause.
