The Goodman 20197312 Pressure Switch (-.37" WC, Normally Open) is a genuine OEM draft-proving safety control for the GMH950704CXAB and related Goodman/Amana furnaces. This switch verifies that the inducer/draft motor has established proper venting before the ignition sequence begins. When the correct negative pressure (-0.37 inches of water column) is sensed, the normally-open contacts close and allow the furnace to fire. A failed switch or a blocked vent will keep the furnace from igniting — a frequent no-heat cause.
OEM Goodman pressure switches are factory-calibrated to the precise set point your furnace's venting requires. Generic switches with a nominally similar rating can vary in actual trip pressure and hose-port size, causing nuisance lockouts or unsafe bypass of the draft-proving check. For a combustion safety control, OEM calibration matters — choose OEM.
Easy (1/5). Typically a two-screw mount with one tubing hose and two wires, about 20 minutes. Shut off power and gas, note wire and hose placement, and confirm the tubing is free of moisture or blockage before restarting.
