The Goodman B4022700 3-inch In-Shot Burner is a genuine OEM single burner engineered for the WGFM28115V5CXAA gas furnace. In-shot burners inject a controlled gas/air mixture into each heat-exchanger tube for clean, quiet ignition and consistent flame carryover across the burner rack.
OEM vs. Generic: Burner geometry directly affects flame shape, ignition timing, and CO output. The genuine Goodman burner is matched to the furnace's orifice size, manifold pressure, and heat-exchanger port spacing. Generic burners may misalign the flame, cause delayed ignition or roll-out, and shift combustion out of spec. For safe, in-spec operation we strongly recommend the OEM burner and replacing the full set when several are corroded.
Install difficulty: Moderate (3/5). Shut off gas and power, remove the burner-box cover and manifold, slide out the old burner, and index the replacement to the same orifice and igniter/flame-sensor position.
