The Goodman B1370155 auxiliary limit switch is the factory-specified overheat safety for the GDT070-3B gas furnace. It watches blower-compartment and secondary heat-exchanger temperatures and opens the control circuit to stop the burners if heat exceeds its 120°F trip point. Common failure symptoms include short-cycling on the heat call, intermittent no-heat, or a furnace that runs the blower but won't light — all reasons to replace an aged or drifted limit switch.
This genuine OEM Goodman switch is calibrated to the precise 120°F set point your furnace board expects. Generic equivalents may cost less but often carry wider temperature tolerances, leading to premature nuisance trips or delayed protection. On a safety component, the OEM part is the reliable choice.
Rating: Easy (1/5). Kill power at the breaker, pull the two spade terminals, unscrew the old switch, and mount the replacement in the same orientation. Reconnect and restore power. Typical replacement time is 10–15 minutes with basic hand tools. If the limit keeps tripping after replacement, check for restricted airflow (dirty filter, closed vents, failing blower) or consult a licensed HVAC technician.
