The Goodman 20197308 is a factory-original air pressure (draft-proving) switch for the GMV950905DXBB 95% AFUE two-stage furnace. In multi-switch furnaces, this low-setpoint switch verifies proper venting during first-stage or low-fire operation before ignition is permitted. Calibrated to a -0.10 in. w.c. trip point and wired normally open, it closes when the inducer establishes correct draft. Symptoms of failure include lockouts, short-cycling, and pressure-switch error codes.
The OEM Goodman switch is factory-set to the exact -0.10" trip point required by your furnace's staging logic — essential for safe, reliable ignition. A generic switch can reduce cost but must match the setpoint and NO configuration exactly; mismatched switches cause intermittent faults. For safety components, OEM is recommended.
Moderate (2/5). Disconnect power, note the hose and wiring positions, transfer the tubing and spade terminals to the new switch, and remount. Ensure the sensing hose is clear of condensate before powering up.
Never bypass a pressure switch — it is a safety device. Disconnect power before servicing.
