The Goodman 20197310 is a genuine OEM air-proving pressure switch calibrated at -0.60" WC (water column) for the AMH951155DXAC gas furnace and compatible Goodman and Amana models. This normally-open switch verifies that the inducer draft motor is pulling adequate negative pressure before the control board allows ignition. When correct vacuum is sensed, the contacts close and the ignition sequence proceeds; if the vent is blocked, the condensate drain is clogged, or the inducer is weak, the switch stays open and the furnace safely locks out.
Pressure switches are set-point specific — the correct -0.60" WC calibration is critical for safe, reliable ignition. Generic or mis-rated switches can cause no-heat lockouts or, worse, allow ignition under poor-draft conditions. Only an exact-set-point OEM switch guarantees the furnace proves draft as the manufacturer intended.
Easy — DIY friendly (15–20 minutes). Disconnect power, note the hose and wire positions, transfer the pressure tubing and terminals to the new switch, and mount it. Before condemning the switch, always check the vent, condensate trap, and inducer, since a clogged drain often mimics a failed pressure switch.
