The Goodman 20197310 pressure switch proves proper draft on the GMH951155DXAB 96% AFUE two-stage furnace before the burners are allowed to fire. Rated at -0.60 inches of water column and wired normally open, it closes when the inducer establishes sufficient negative pressure — confirming the venting and condensate path are clear. A failed or out-of-spec switch is a leading cause of no-heat calls, inducer-runs-but-no-ignition, and lockout faults.
The OEM 20197310 is factory-calibrated to the exact -0.60" WC trip point and hose-port layout this furnace requires. A generic switch with a different set point can trip early, fail to close, or bypass a real venting fault — a combustion-safety risk. Because draft proving is a safety function, matching the OEM pressure and NO/NC configuration is essential.
Disconnect power, note and transfer the wire leads and pressure hose to the new switch, and mount it in the same orientation. Verify the switch closes on a heat call and that the hose is free of condensate before returning the unit to service.
