The Goodman 20197312 Pressure Switch is a genuine OEM air-proving safety control designed for the Goodman/Amana AMS950704CXA gas furnace and compatible models. This normally-open switch monitors negative pressure (vacuum) in the combustion venting system and closes at approximately -0.37 inches water column to confirm proper draft before the ignition sequence begins. If venting is blocked or the inducer fails, the switch keeps the furnace safely locked out.
This is a genuine OEM Goodman component calibrated to the exact -0.37" W.C. setpoint your furnace's control board expects. Generic or mis-rated switches can trip at the wrong pressure, causing nuisance lockouts or, worse, allowing operation under unsafe draft conditions. For a safety control, we recommend OEM.
Moderate — Requires disconnecting power, transferring the vacuum hose, and swapping two spade terminals. A multimeter for continuity testing is recommended. Most experienced DIYers complete the job in 20–30 minutes; hire a licensed HVAC technician if you are unsure.
