The Goodman 20197312 is a genuine OEM air-proving pressure switch calibrated at -0.37 inches of water column (NO — normally open) for Goodman GMS95 gas furnaces such as the GMS950453BXA. The switch senses negative pressure from the induced-draft blower and closes to prove adequate venting before the control board allows ignition. If the switch fails to close — due to a blocked flue, weak inducer, clogged drain trap, or the switch itself failing — the furnace will lock out for safety.
The OEM 20197312 is factory-calibrated to the exact -0.37" trip point required for correct, safe operation. Because an incorrect set point causes short-cycling or unsafe firing, we recommend OEM; our generic equivalent is offered only when the pressure rating and configuration are confirmed identical.
Easy (1/5). Shut off power, disconnect the two spade terminals and the sensing hose, remove the mounting screw, and install the new switch — reconnecting the hose without kinks. About a 10-minute repair. Before assuming the switch is bad, inspect the hose, port, and drain for blockage.
Match the pressure value and NO/NC configuration to your original before ordering.
