The Goodman B2589343 is a genuine OEM natural gas burner orifice (spud) engineered for the GMNT060-3 furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. The orifice threads into the gas manifold and meters the exact gas flow into each in-shot burner. A worn, corroded, or incorrectly sized orifice throws off the air-fuel mixture, causing sooting, lazy yellow flames, delayed ignition, or reduced heat output.
The OEM Goodman B2589343 is bored and gauged to factory tolerance so the furnace fires at its rated BTU input. Even a slightly off drill size changes input and combustion quality, so we recommend OEM over generic or field-drilled orifices to keep the appliance safe and within certification.
Shut off gas and power. Remove the burner assembly to expose the manifold, unscrew the old orifice, and thread in the replacement snugly—brass into aluminum should be firm but not overtightened. Confirm the orifice is stamped for natural gas (LP uses a smaller bore), reassemble, and leak-check the manifold before firing.
