The orifice threads into the manifold and meters the precise volume of gas delivered to each in-shot burner, setting the furnace's BTU input. A worn, corroded, or incorrectly sized orifice causes weak flames, poor heat output, or over-firing — so using the factory-drilled size is critical for safe, efficient combustion.
The OEM orifice is drilled to the exact diameter matched to this furnace's manifold pressure and altitude rating.
