The Goodman 10123539 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control for ACES961005CNAA gas furnaces and other compatible Goodman and Amana models. This normally-closed high-limit / flame-rollout switch monitors temperature at the burner box and opens the circuit to shut down the furnace if it detects an overheat or flame-rollout condition — a critical safety function that protects the heat exchanger and the home.
Because it is a manual reset switch, it must be physically reset after a trip, signaling the technician that an underlying problem (blocked flue, dirty burners, cracked heat exchanger) needs attention. A switch that won't reset or has tripped permanently must be replaced with the exact OEM part to keep the safety circuit functioning.
Safety switches must trip at a precise temperature. The genuine OEM switch is calibrated to the furnace's exact specification; a generic switch with the wrong trip point can fail to protect or cause nuisance shutdowns. For a safety-critical component, always use OEM.
Moderate (2/5) — Shut off power and gas, disconnect the two spade terminals, unscrew the switch from the burner assembly, and install the new one. 20–30 minutes. Important: diagnose and correct the cause of any trip before returning the furnace to service.
