The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control that shuts off the burners if the furnace overheats or experiences flame rollout. Unlike an auto-reset limit, this manual-reset device stays open until a technician presses the reset button — a deliberate design that forces inspection after a serious over-temperature event. It is a direct-fit replacement for the VDS80804BNAA and compatible Goodman/Amana gas furnaces. A tripped or failed limit switch is a common cause of no-heat calls and short cycling.
This is a genuine Goodman OEM safety component calibrated to the exact factory trip temperature. Because a limit switch is a life-safety device that protects against fire and cracked heat exchangers, we do not recommend generic substitutes with unverified trip points. Always match the OEM part number.
Easy (2/5). Power down the furnace, disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the replacement in the same orientation. About 15 minutes. If the switch trips again after reset, do not bypass it — diagnose the root cause (airflow, gas pressure, or heat exchanger).
Never jump out or bypass a safety limit. Disconnect power before servicing; consult a licensed technician if unsure.
