The Goodman 10123535 is a genuine OEM manual-reset high-limit safety switch engineered for the GMV950453BXA gas furnace and other compatible Goodman/Amana models. This red-button limit switch monitors heat-exchanger and plenum temperatures and interrupts the burner circuit if the furnace overheats — a critical safety component that prevents damage from restricted airflow, a failed blower, or a dirty filter. Because it is a manual-reset design, the switch stays tripped until an operator presses the button, forcing a technician to inspect the root cause before the furnace can fire again.
This is a genuine Goodman OEM switch calibrated to the factory trip temperature for your furnace. Universal aftermarket limit switches often carry different set points and mounting geometry, which can cause nuisance trips or, worse, a switch that fails to open at the correct temperature. For a safety-critical part we strongly recommend the OEM component.
Easy — DIY friendly (15–20 minutes). Two wire terminals and two mounting screws. Always shut off gas and power at the disconnect before servicing. If the switch has tripped repeatedly, have a licensed HVAC technician diagnose the underlying airflow or ignition fault.
