The 10123533 manual reset limit switch is a genuine OEM high-temperature safety cutout for the Goodman GMH950453BXAE 95% AFUE gas furnace. This normally-closed switch opens the ignition circuit if the furnace exceeds its safe operating temperature — protecting the heat exchanger, blower, and surrounding cabinet from overheat damage. Because it is a manual reset device, a tripped switch signals a real problem (blocked airflow, dirty filter, or failed blower) and requires you to press the button to restore heat, preventing dangerous repeat cycling.
The OEM Goodman switch is calibrated to the exact trip temperature your furnace design requires — critical for a safety device. Generic universal limits are cheaper but may trip at the wrong setpoint, causing nuisance shutdowns or, worse, failing to protect at the correct threshold. For any safety cutout, we strongly recommend OEM.
Easy (2/5) — Remove two screws, transfer the two spade wires, and mount the replacement in the same orientation. Roughly 15 minutes. Always cut power and gas first, and diagnose why it tripped before returning the furnace to service.
