The Goodman 10123519 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM high-temperature safety cutoff for the GCH90904CXAA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This normally-closed switch opens the ignition circuit if it detects excessive heat or a flame rollout condition, shutting the burners down to prevent overheating, heat-exchanger damage, and fire hazards. Because it is manual reset, it must be pressed to reset after a trip — signaling the technician to investigate the underlying cause.
The OEM 10123519 is calibrated to the exact trip temperature specified for your furnace's heat exchanger and burner box. Generic switches with the wrong trip point either nuisance-trip during normal operation or fail to protect the unit. Safety components should always be OEM.
Moderate (3 of 5). Shut off gas and power first. Note wire positions, disconnect the terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the replacement in the same orientation. Important: a tripped limit switch indicates a real problem — restricted airflow, a dirty filter, a failed blower, or flame rollout. Diagnose and correct the root cause before returning the furnace to service.
