The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control engineered for the AMVC81155CXAB two-stage, variable-speed gas furnace. This normally-closed rollout/limit switch monitors heat-exchanger and burner-box temperatures and opens the ignition circuit if a flame rollout or overheat condition is detected, shutting down the burners to protect the unit and your home. Because it is a manual-reset device, it stays open after a fault until you physically press the reset button — a deliberate design that forces you to investigate the root cause before the furnace can fire again.
Our OEM Goodman switch is calibrated to the exact trip temperature specified by the manufacturer, so it protects the furnace without nuisance tripping. Generic aftermarket switches may use a different open temperature and can either fail to protect or shut the unit down prematurely. For a safety-critical control, we recommend the genuine OEM part.
Replacement is a straightforward DIY job for most homeowners: disconnect power at the furnace switch, remove the two mounting screws, transfer the two spade-terminal wires to the new switch, remount, and restore power. No special tools or refrigerant handling required. Always confirm power is off before servicing.
