The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM high-temperature safety control for the Amana/Goodman AMVC801005CXAB two-stage variable-speed gas furnace. Unlike an auto-reset limit, this manual-reset rollout/high-limit switch latches open when it trips, forcing a physical reset — a deliberate safeguard that flags a serious condition such as flame rollout or a blocked flue. If your furnace is dead after an overheat event and won't restart until a button is pressed, this switch is doing its job or has failed open.
Trip temperature is safety-critical: the OEM Goodman switch is calibrated to the exact set-point the furnace requires. A generic switch with a different trip point can either nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to trip when needed. For a manual-reset rollout control, always use the OEM-specified part.
Easy (1/5). Cut power, disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the replacement. Press the reset button after wiring. About 15 minutes with a nut driver.
A repeated trip indicates an underlying fault (blocked flue, cracked heat exchanger, or airflow problem) — have a licensed technician diagnose the root cause. Disconnect power before servicing.
