The Goodman 10123539 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM high-limit safety control engineered for the AMSS921005CNAA gas furnace and other Goodman/Amana models on the same platform. This switch monitors heat-exchanger temperature and interrupts the ignition sequence if the furnace overheats, protecting the equipment and your home. Because it is a manual reset device, it will not automatically re-close after a trip — a technician must inspect the cause and press the button to restore operation, which is exactly the fail-safe behavior the furnace's safety circuit is designed around.
This is the genuine OEM Goodman part, calibrated to the exact trip temperature specified for your furnace. Universal or generic limit switches often carry a different trip point or bracket geometry, which can cause nuisance shutdowns or, worse, fail to trip when needed. For a safety-critical component like this, we recommend the OEM part for guaranteed calibration and fit.
Easy (2/5). Typically a two-wire, single-screw replacement. Always shut off power and gas at the furnace before servicing. If the switch has tripped, diagnose and correct the underlying overheating condition (dirty filter, blocked airflow, failed blower) before returning the unit to service.
