The Goodman 10123529 is an OEM manual-reset rollout limit switch for AMS80804BXAA gas furnaces and compatible Amana 80% AFUE models. Positioned near the burner assembly, it opens the control circuit and shuts the furnace down if flame rollout or excessive burner-area heat is detected. Because it is a manual-reset device, it stays open until a technician presses the reset button — an intentional safeguard that forces inspection before the furnace can restart after a rollout event.
This genuine OEM Goodman switch matches the exact trip temperature, terminal orientation, and reset-button style specified for your furnace. Generic rollout switches may trip at the wrong threshold or use auto-reset elements, which defeats the manual-reset safety intent. For a code-critical combustion safety, OEM is strongly recommended.
Easy (1/5). About 15 minutes: kill power, disconnect the two spade terminals, unscrew the bracket, and mount the new switch in the same location. Important: a tripped rollout switch is a warning sign — before resetting or replacing, have a technician inspect the heat exchanger, flue, and burners for the underlying cause (blockage, cracked exchanger, or poor draft). Never bypass this switch.
