The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control for the Goodman/Amana AMS80604BXAD and compatible furnaces. This normally-closed thermal switch opens the control circuit if it senses an overheat or flame-rollout condition, shutting down the furnace to protect the heat exchanger and prevent unsafe operation. Because it is a manual reset device, it must be pressed to reset once the fault is cleared — a deliberate design that flags a problem needing attention.
If your furnace repeatedly trips or won't stay running, a tripped or failed limit switch is a common cause. Never bypass this safety — replace it with the correct OEM part.
Genuine Goodman limit switches are calibrated to the exact trip temperature specified for this furnace. Generic switches with the wrong setpoint can either nuisance-trip or fail to protect the unit. For a safety component, only OEM should be used.
Easy to Moderate — Two-wire spade connection with a mounting bracket; 10–20 minutes. Shut off power and gas before servicing. If the switch keeps tripping, have the root cause diagnosed by a technician.
