The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety component engineered for the AMH80903BXCA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This normally-closed rollout/limit switch monitors heat exchanger and burner-box temperatures and opens the ignition circuit if an unsafe over-temperature or flame-rollout condition occurs, shutting down the furnace to prevent damage and protect your home.
Because it is a manual reset device, it will not auto-cycle after a fault — the switch must be physically reset once the underlying cause (blocked flue, failed blower, cracked heat exchanger, or dirty burners) has been corrected. This is a deliberate safety design that forces inspection before the furnace can run again.
OEM vs. Generic: The genuine OEM switch ships with the exact factory trip point and bracket geometry, so it drops into the original mounting location and matches the furnace's published safety specs. Universal aftermarket switches often require rework of brackets or terminals and may carry a different calibration, which can cause nuisance lockouts or, worse, fail to trip at the correct temperature. For a life-safety component we always recommend OEM.
Install difficulty: Easy (1/5). Turn off power and gas, disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screw(s), install the new switch in the same orientation, and reconnect. Typically a 10–15 minute repair with a nut driver. If the switch keeps tripping after replacement, diagnose airflow and combustion before running the furnace.
