The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control for the AMH80803BNBD gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This normally-closed thermal switch opens and cuts the gas valve if it senses excessive temperature — typically from a blocked flue, failed blower, or flame rollout. Because it is a manual reset device, it must be pressed back in by hand after a trip, which alerts the homeowner that a fault occurred and should be diagnosed.
This is a factory-calibrated OEM Goodman safety switch set to the exact trip temperature specified for your furnace. Generic limit switches with the wrong set point can nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to protect against a real over-temperature event. For any safety-critical control we recommend OEM only — do not substitute an unmatched temperature rating.
Easy to Moderate. The switch mounts with two screws and connects via spade terminals. Shut off gas and power, note wire positions, and confirm the switch resets to closed after install. If your furnace is repeatedly tripping the limit, diagnose the underlying airflow or venting fault before returning it to service — consult a licensed technician if unsure.
