The Goodman 10123534 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control engineered for the AMEC961005CNAD gas furnace and related Goodman/Amana models. This rollout limit switch monitors for flame rollout and abnormal heat, opening the circuit to shut down the burner if a dangerous over-temperature condition is detected. Because it is a manual-reset design, it locks out after tripping and must be physically reset — a deliberate safety feature that forces a technician to inspect the unit before the furnace runs again.
Our genuine OEM switch is calibrated to the exact trip temperature Goodman specifies for this furnace, ensuring proper lockout behavior and code compliance. Generic aftermarket switches may trip early, trip late, or fail to reset reliably — risking nuisance shutdowns or, worse, bypassing a critical safety limit. For a life-safety component, OEM is strongly recommended.
Easy (DIY-friendly with caution). Replacement is typically a two-wire swap after de-energizing the furnace, but any repeated rollout trip indicates an underlying combustion or venting problem that should be diagnosed by a qualified HVAC technician before the unit is returned to service.
