The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control for the AMEC801005CNAB gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This high-limit / rollout switch monitors temperature and opens the circuit if the furnace overheats or a flame rollout condition occurs, shutting down the burners to prevent damage or a fire hazard. Because it is a manual-reset device, it stays open until pressed, alerting the homeowner that a fault occurred. A failed or tripped switch is a common cause of a furnace that won't fire or repeatedly locks out.
This is a safety-critical component, and the OEM switch is calibrated to the exact trip temperature Goodman specifies for this furnace. Generic switches with the wrong setpoint can either nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to trip when needed. Always use the genuine OEM limit switch for this application.
Rating: Easy to Moderate. Power down the furnace, disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the new switch in the same orientation. A 15–20 minute job for a confident DIYer; if the furnace keeps tripping after replacement, have a technician diagnose the underlying overheat cause.
