The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control for the ADVC80805CXBA furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This normally-closed thermal switch opens to shut off the burners if it senses an overheat or flame-rollout condition, then requires a manual reset (push-button) once the fault is cleared — a deliberate safeguard that forces a technician to inspect the cause before the furnace restarts. A tripped or failed limit switch is a common reason a furnace stops heating.
Because this is a safety-rated component, the OEM part is strongly recommended: it carries the exact factory trip temperature and terminal configuration. Generic switches with the wrong set point can either nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to protect against a genuine overheat. Never substitute a lower-rated part.
Easy to moderate. Typically a two-wire spade-terminal swap secured by mounting screws. Diagnose why the switch tripped (blocked flue, rollout, airflow) before replacing. Disconnect power first.
