The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM high-temperature safety switch for the ADSH801005CXAB and compatible Goodman/Amana gas furnaces. This normally-closed thermal switch opens the control circuit if the furnace overheats or a flame-rollout condition occurs, shutting off the gas valve to prevent damage to the heat exchanger. Because it is manual-reset, it stays open until pressed, forcing a service check after any safety trip.
OEM vs. Generic: The genuine Goodman switch is calibrated to the furnace's exact trip temperature and uses the correct mounting bracket and terminal layout. A generic switch with a different setpoint can nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to open when it should — a safety risk on a combustion appliance. For any safety-circuit component, the OEM part is the right call.
Installation difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Cut power, note and disconnect the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the new switch in the same orientation. After repair, press the reset button. If the switch trips again, do not keep resetting it — a repeated trip signals overheating (dirty filter, blocked airflow, or a cracked heat exchanger) that needs diagnosis by a licensed technician.
