The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM high-temperature safety control for the Goodman ACVC80803BXBC two-stage, variable-speed 80% AFUE gas furnace. This manual-reset limit (also serving as a rollout/high-limit safety) opens the control circuit and shuts down the burners if it senses an over-temperature or flame-rollout condition, protecting the heat exchanger and your home. Because it is a manual-reset device, it stays tripped until a technician confirms the fault is cleared and presses the reset button.
The OEM Goodman switch is calibrated to the exact trip temperature this furnace requires. A safety control is the wrong place to economize — an incorrectly rated generic switch may trip too early (nuisance lockouts) or, worse, too late. Always replace a limit switch with the factory-specified part.
Difficulty: Moderate. Remove the access panel, unplug the two spade terminals, and unscrew the switch from its bracket — about 15–25 minutes. Disconnect electrical power before servicing. Important: a tripped manual-reset limit indicates a real fault (restricted airflow, dirty filter, blower issue, or cracked heat exchanger). Diagnose and correct the root cause before relying on the replacement; a licensed technician is recommended.
