The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM thermal safety control for ACVC800805CXAB gas furnaces and compatible Goodman/Amana models. As a manual-reset device, it opens the control circuit on an over-temperature or flame-rollout condition and stays open until a person presses the reset button — by design, so an unsafe condition gets investigated rather than ignored.
This switch is a frontline protection against blocked flues, cracked heat exchangers, and combustion-air restrictions. If your furnace locks out on the high limit and will not restart, this component may have done exactly its job — or it may have failed open and need replacement.
A safety limit must trip at the exact factory temperature. The OEM 10123529 carries the correct cutoff rating, terminal layout, and mounting footprint for this furnace. A generic substitute with a different trip point can either nuisance-trip or fail to protect against a real overheat. On a safety control, never compromise — choose OEM.
Rated 2/5. With the furnace de-energized, remove two screws and the spade connectors and swap the switch in 15–20 minutes. Important: a tripped manual-reset limit signals a real fault — diagnose and correct the underlying cause (often a blocked flue or failing inducer) before returning the furnace to service.
