The Goodman B1370193 is the factory high limit switch for the GDT070-3B gas furnace. Mounted on the heat-exchanger bulkhead, it is the primary overtemperature safety: if supply-air temperature rises above its factory trip point — typically from restricted airflow, a dirty filter, a failing blower, or a blocked duct — it opens the control circuit and shuts off the burners to protect the heat exchanger from overheating. Frequent limit trips are a warning sign that should never be bypassed.
This genuine OEM Goodman high limit is calibrated to the exact trip temperature and mounting footprint your furnace was engineered around. Generic replacements may carry different set points or bracket dimensions, risking nuisance trips or improper protection. Because the high limit guards the heat exchanger, we recommend the OEM part.
Rating: Easy (1/5). Disconnect power, unplug the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screws, and install the new switch in the identical orientation on the heat-exchanger panel. Reconnect and restore power — usually a 10–15 minute job. If the furnace continues to trip the limit after replacement, address the underlying airflow restriction (replace the filter, open registers, check the blower) or call a licensed HVAC technician.
