The Goodman 20171701 Condensate Drain Trap is a genuine OEM assembly for the AMH951155DXAG 95% AFUE condensing furnace and related Goodman/Amana high-efficiency models. In a condensing furnace, the secondary heat exchanger produces acidic condensate that must drain while maintaining a seal against flue gases. This factory trap provides that water seal and integrates the drain ports required for correct pressure-switch operation. A clogged or cracked trap is a leading cause of pressure-switch lockouts and water leakage.
OEM vs. Generic: The 20171701 matches the exact port layout, seal height, and mounting geometry of the furnace cabinet. Generic traps rarely align the pressure-switch tap correctly, causing intermittent lockout codes that are difficult to diagnose. OEM eliminates that guesswork and seals correctly out of the box.
Install difficulty: Moderate — 30 to 60 minutes. Shut off power, disconnect the drain and pressure-switch tubing, remove the old trap, install and prime the new trap with water, and verify a leak-free seal. Confirm the pressure switch closes on a call for heat before returning to service.
