The Goodman M0570808 Button Plug is a genuine OEM cabinet closure designed to seal unused knockout holes on the sheet-metal housing of Goodman and Amana AMSS960803BNAA gas furnaces. When wiring, gas piping, or accessory conduit is routed through a different opening than the factory default, the open knockout must be capped to preserve the sealed combustion cabinet and prevent conditioned-air leakage. This snap-in plug does exactly that — no tools, no adhesive, no sealant required.
Generic hole plugs are sized to a nominal diameter and frequently sit loose or bow out of a Goodman knockout, breaking the cabinet seal and creating an air-leak or rattle.
