The Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch — identified by its light-blue housing — is a genuine OEM safety control for the AMVC81005CXBC gas furnace. This normally-closed thermal switch opens and cuts power to the gas valve if it senses excessive temperature in its mounting location, protecting the furnace and home from overheating due to restricted airflow, a failed blower, or a dirty filter. If your furnace locks out on a limit fault or won't stay running, a tripped or failed auxiliary limit is a common cause.
The color-coded OEM switch is calibrated to the exact trip and reset temperatures Goodman specified for this cabinet. Substituting a switch with a different rating defeats the safety design. For any limit or rollout control, always match the OEM part and color.
Usually two screws and two spade terminals. Power off, note the wiring, swap, and reconnect. Straightforward, but confirm the underlying cause of any nuisance trips.
