The Goodman 0130F00038 is a genuine OEM auxiliary limit switch (color-coded light blue) designed for the GDH80403ANBA gas furnace. Auxiliary limit switches provide a secondary layer of overheat protection—typically mounted near the blower or a secondary airflow path—so the furnace shuts down safely if the primary limit fails to catch an overheat condition. A failed auxiliary limit can cause intermittent no-heat calls or safety lockouts.
Because the auxiliary limit is calibrated to a specific trip temperature and bracket location, the factory OEM Goodman part is strongly preferred. Generic substitutes may not match the original trip point, undermining the redundant safety design of the furnace. Investing a few dollars more in the OEM switch keeps your unit's protection stack intact.
Easy (1 of 3). Replacement takes roughly 15 minutes with a nut driver. Kill power at the breaker first, transfer the two spade connectors one at a time to avoid a wiring mix-up, and confirm the switch seats flush against its mounting surface. If the original tripped, inspect the blower and filter for restricted airflow before restarting.
