The Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch (identified by its light blue body) is a genuine OEM safety control for the Goodman GCH950453BXAC gas furnace. This auxiliary limit is a normally-closed thermal switch that opens if the blower or cabinet reaches an unsafe temperature — for example during restricted airflow, a dirty filter, or blower failure — shutting the furnace down to protect the heat exchanger and surrounding components. A tripped or failed auxiliary limit is a frequent cause of no-heat and intermittent shutdown complaints.
Limit switches are calibrated to a specific trip temperature, and Goodman color-codes them for that reason — the light blue rating is matched to this furnace's cabinet. The genuine Goodman OEM switch guarantees the correct open/reset temperatures and terminal layout. Substituting a differently-rated generic switch can either nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to protect the equipment.
Easy (2 of 5). Cut power at the disconnect, note the two wire terminals, remove the mounting screws, and swap in the new switch. About 15 minutes with a nut driver. Confirm the correct color/rating before installing.
Protect your GCH95 furnace with the genuine Goodman auxiliary limit switch.
