The OEM Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch (light blue body) is the factory-specified thermal safety cutout for the Amana/Goodman AMVC80803BXCA gas furnace. This normally-closed thermal switch opens if it senses an overheat or flame-rollout condition — from a blocked filter, failed blower, or restricted flue — and de-energizes the gas valve to prevent heat-exchanger and cabinet damage. A tripped or failed auxiliary limit causes no-heat calls or repeated safety lockouts.
Limit switches are trip-temperature specific — the light-blue code corresponds to a precise cutout point Goodman engineered for this cabinet. Installing a generic switch with the wrong set point either nuisance-trips or, worse, fails to protect the furnace. Always match the OEM part and color code.
Easy (1/5). About 10 minutes: cut power, note the two wire positions, unscrew the switch from the burner box or blower shelf, transfer wires, and remount. Verify the color/part number matches before installing.
