The Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch (light-blue body) is the OEM over-temperature safety control for the AMVC800804CXAB gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. Mounted on the blower housing or heat-exchanger assembly, this normally-closed thermal switch opens the control circuit if the furnace exceeds its safe operating temperature — for example during a blower failure or restricted airflow — shutting down the burners to protect the equipment and your home.
Limit switches are calibrated to a specific trip temperature, and the light-blue coding identifies that exact rating for the AMVC800804CXAB. Installing a generic switch with the wrong trip point can cause nuisance shutdowns or, worse, fail to protect the heat exchanger. The genuine Goodman part guarantees the correct calibration and mounting footprint.
Easy (1/5). Two mounting screws and two spade terminals. Power off at the breaker, note the wire positions, swap the switch, and reconnect. A 10–15 minute job for most DIYers. If the new switch trips immediately, investigate airflow and blower operation before assuming a bad part.
