The Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch (light blue) is a genuine OEM overheat safety cutout for the Amana/Goodman AMH81005CXBA gas furnace. This normally-closed thermal switch opens the control circuit if the blower compartment or heat exchanger area exceeds its rated temperature — protecting against restricted airflow, a failed blower, or a dirty filter. A tripped or failed auxiliary limit is a common cause of a furnace that heats briefly then shuts off on a safety fault.
The OEM Goodman switch carries the exact temperature rating denoted by its light-blue color code. Installing a generic switch with the wrong trip point can either cause nuisance shutdowns or, worse, fail to protect the furnace from a genuine overheat. Because this is a safety-critical part, match the OEM color code exactly.
Easy (1/5). Two mounting screws and two push-on terminals. Cut power, note wire positions, unscrew the old switch, mount the new one in the same orientation, reconnect, and restore power. About 10 minutes.
