The Goodman 0130F00038 is a genuine OEM auxiliary limit switch, identified by its light-blue marking, and is a direct-fit replacement for the AMEH800805CNAB gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. This secondary thermal safety switch backs up the primary limit, opening the control circuit to shut down the burners if a specific zone of the furnace exceeds its safe temperature.
Auxiliary limits commonly trip due to restricted airflow, a dirty filter, blocked vents, or a failing blower. When the switch itself wears out it can cause unexpected no-heat shutdowns. Replacing it with the correct OEM part restores proper backup overheat protection.
The OEM switch carries the exact factory trip temperature (color-coded light blue) and mounting profile for your furnace. Substituting a generic limit risks the wrong trip point or fit, undermining a safety function. Because this is a protective component, we recommend the OEM replacement.
Easy to Moderate. The switch mounts with screws and uses spade-terminal wiring. Disconnect power before servicing. A confident DIYer can replace it, but if the limit keeps tripping, have a technician diagnose the underlying airflow problem.
