The Goodman 0130F00038 Auxiliary Limit Switch (light blue) is a genuine OEM high-temperature safety control for the AMEC800804CXAA gas furnace. This normally-closed thermal cutout monitors temperature at the blower or cabinet and opens the circuit if the furnace overheats — protecting the heat exchanger, wiring, and surrounding components from heat damage. A tripped or failed auxiliary limit is a common cause of intermittent shutdowns and no-heat conditions.
The color-coded OEM switch is calibrated to the exact factory trip temperature for this furnace — critical for a safety device. The light-blue code identifies its specific setpoint. Substituting a generic limit with the wrong temperature rating can cause nuisance trips or, worse, fail to protect against a real overheat. Always match the OEM part and setpoint.
Easy (1–2 of 5). Shut off power, note wire positions, remove two mounting screws, transfer the terminals, and remount. Verify the switch resets and the furnace cycles normally. If the limit keeps tripping, investigate airflow (dirty filter, blocked returns, blower issues) before assuming the switch is bad.
