The 10123534 is a factory-original manual-reset thermal limit switch that protects Goodman and Amana gas furnaces from dangerous overheating and flame rollout. When temperatures exceed the switch's rated trip point, it opens the control circuit to shut down the burners, and it must be manually reset by pressing its button — a design that forces a technician to investigate the root cause before the furnace can restart. It is a direct-fit replacement for the AMEC961004CNAC and related AMEC-series models.
The OEM 10123534 is calibrated to the exact trip temperature your furnace was engineered for — critical for a safety component. Generic switches may carry a different set-point or bracket geometry, which can cause nuisance trips or, worse, fail to protect against rollout. For a life-safety part, we strongly recommend genuine OEM.
Rating: Moderate (2/5). Requires disconnecting power and gas, removing two mounting screws, and transferring the wire terminals. Typically 15–20 minutes. If your original switch tripped, have the heat exchanger and airflow inspected before returning the furnace to service.
