The B4089343 is a genuine Goodman/Amana burner orifice — also called a spud — drilled to a #43 orifice size and designed as a direct-fit replacement for the ADV80905CXBA gas furnace and compatible Goodman/Amana models. The orifice threads into the gas manifold and meters the precise volume of gas jetted into each in-shot burner. The drill size sets the BTU input per burner, so using the correct orifice number is essential for safe, efficient, correctly-rated firing.
The OEM B4089343 is precision-machined to Goodman's exact bore and thread spec so BTU input and flame quality match factory settings. Generic or misdrilled orifices can over- or under-fire the furnace, causing sooting, overheating, or a lockout. Because orifice size directly controls gas input, always match the exact number — never substitute by eye. OEM is strongly recommended for combustion accuracy.
Roughly 20–40 minutes. Shut off gas and power, back the old spud out of the manifold with the correct wrench, thread in the new #43 orifice, and leak-check every joint with soap solution before returning to service.
