The Goodman B1370154 Flame Rollout Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety control for the GSMS100-4 gas furnace, rated to open at 350°F. Mounted near the burner assembly, it detects flame rollout — flames escaping the heat exchanger — and immediately shuts down the furnace to prevent fire and heat-exchanger damage. If your furnace locks out on a repeated safety fault, a tripped or failed rollout switch (often caused by a blocked flue or cracked heat exchanger) is a prime suspect.
The OEM B1370154 guarantees the exact 350°F trip point and correct bracket/terminal layout for the GSMS100-4. A generic switch with a different setpoint can either nuisance-trip or fail to protect against genuine rollout. On a life-safety component this small and inexpensive, the OEM part is always worth it. Important: if a rollout switch has tripped, diagnose and correct the root cause (blocked venting, dirty burners, cracked heat exchanger) before returning the furnace to service.
Easy (1/5) — Disconnect power, unscrew the switch from the burner bracket, and transfer the two spade terminals. A 10-minute swap — but the underlying rollout cause must be professionally investigated.
