The Goodman B1370912S Primary Limit Switch is a genuine OEM 240°F high-limit safety with a 7 inch insertion depth, built for Goodman GUPS100-3 gas furnaces. It monitors heat-exchanger and plenum temperature and shuts off the burners if the furnace overheats — typically from restricted airflow, a dirty filter, or a failed blower. Replacing a tripped or open limit restores safe heating.
As a safety limit, the OEM Goodman switch is the recommended choice — the 240°F trip point and 7" probe length are calibrated to your furnace's heat-exchanger geometry. Generic limits with a different length or trip rating can sit in the wrong airstream and either nuisance-trip or respond too slowly. Match the OEM spec exactly on safety parts.
Easy. Remove two mounting screws on the burner/blower panel, disconnect the two terminals, and slide the new probe into place — 15–20 minutes. Disconnect power and gas first. If the limit reopens after replacement, check the filter, blower, and ductwork for airflow restriction before running.
