The Goodman 20201902 is a 23-inch pre-cut condensate drain hose tube for AMVC950905CXAD 96% AFUE variable-speed gas furnaces. This length routes condensate from the collector box or trap across the cabinet to the drain connection. Because it is cut to a fixed 23" length, it drops in without measuring or trimming — ideal when the original tube has hardened, cracked, or been damaged during service. A sound drain hose keeps the condensate path sealed and prevents the water leaks and pressure-switch lockouts common to high-efficiency furnaces.
The genuine 20201902 is already sized to the exact 23" run and barb diameters the AMVC9 cabinet expects, so routing and seal are correct out of the bag. Generic bulk hose must be measured, cut, and hoped to fit the fittings — and often uses tubing not rated for acidic condensate. The OEM part removes the guesswork and the risk of a repeat leak.
Difficulty: Easy (DIY-friendly). Power off the furnace, slide the old 23" tube off its fittings, and press the replacement on in the same routing. Check the downhill slope to the trap, secure any clamps, and test for leaks. Usually done in about 15 minutes with pliers or a screwdriver.
