The Goodman B1370190 Primary Limit Switch is the genuine OEM high-limit safety control for the Goodman/Amana AMH80453AXAA gas furnace. Mounted on the heat exchanger or blower deck, this normally-closed switch opens at roughly 210°F to cut the gas valve if the furnace overheats — protecting the heat exchanger from cracking and preventing a fire hazard. When this switch fails, the furnace will typically lock out on a limit fault or refuse to maintain a heating cycle.
Genuine OEM limit switches are calibrated to the furnace's specific airflow and heat-exchanger design. Generic replacements may carry a nominal 210°F rating but vary in trip tolerance, risking nuisance lockouts or delayed protection. For a primary safety limit, the OEM part is strongly recommended.
Easy (1/5). A two-wire, screw-mounted swap. Shut off power and gas, photograph the wiring, remove the two spade connectors, install the new switch, and reconnect. Roughly 10–15 minutes. Diagnose and correct any airflow restriction (dirty filter, blocked ducts) before replacing a tripped primary limit.
