The genuine Goodman B1370188 is a primary high-limit switch factory-installed on the GMV80703BXA 80% AFUE two-stage furnace and many related Goodman and Amana gas furnace models. This normally-closed thermal safety control opens the circuit and shuts down the burners if the heat exchanger and plenum temperature climbs past its rated setpoint, protecting the furnace from overheating caused by restricted airflow, a dirty filter, or a failed blower.
Our OEM Goodman option is the exact factory-calibrated switch, guaranteeing the correct trip point and bracket geometry for your furnace. A generic equivalent costs less and works for most repairs, but always verify the temperature rating and terminal orientation before installing. When in doubt on a safety-critical limit control, choose OEM.
Rated Easy (1/5). Disconnect power at the furnace, remove the two mounting screws, unplug the spade terminals, and swap in the new switch. Typically a 10–15 minute job with a nut driver. Always cut power before servicing and confirm proper airflow to prevent nuisance trips.
