The B1370188 primary high-limit switch is a genuine OEM safety control engineered for the Goodman/Amana AMS80904BNA gas furnace and other compatible 80% AFUE models. This normally-closed thermal switch monitors heat-exchanger temperature and cuts power to the gas valve if the furnace overheats, protecting the unit and your home from unsafe operating conditions. If your furnace is short-cycling on heat, tripping on high limit, or refusing to fire, a failed or drifted limit switch is a common culprit.
Our OEM Goodman B1370188 is calibrated to the exact factory trip point of 170°F, ensuring your furnace's safety logic and heat-exchanger protection work as designed. Generic snap-discs may carry a nearby rating but can trip early, run hot, or fail to seat in the factory bracket. For a safety-critical component, we recommend the genuine OEM part.
Easy (1 of 5). Two spade terminals and one or two mounting screws. Always shut off gas and power at the disconnect before servicing. If you are unsure why the original switch failed, have a licensed HVAC technician confirm there is no underlying airflow or heat-exchanger issue before replacing.
