The Goodman 20162903 Primary Limit Switch is a genuine OEM high-limit safety control with a 150°F trip rating, engineered for the AMV91155DXBB gas furnace and other compatible Goodman and Amana models. Mounted on the heat-exchanger bulkhead, it monitors supply-air temperature and opens the circuit to shut down the burners if the furnace overheats — protecting the heat exchanger, blower, and your home.
A limit switch that has weakened or opened permanently will cause no-heat calls, short cycling, or repeated lockouts. Replacing it with the correct 150°F OEM part restores accurate overheat protection and normal furnace operation.
